Inaugural EU-South Africa Summit
The EU-South Africa Summit was held on 25 July in Bordeaux. It was the first summit to be organised between South Africa and the European Union. The Summit was attended by President Nicolas Sarkozy, president of the Council of the European Union, Pres Thabo Mbeki of South Africa and the president of the European Commission, José Manuel Barroso.
