100% success rate for French schools in South Africa [fr]

Outstanding academic results at the French schools in Johannesburg and Cape Town are testimony to the high quality of French education in South Africa.

In keeping with previous years, students at the French schools in South Africa have obtained excellent results at the French Baccalaureate in 2015. With a 100% success rate both at the Lycée Jules Verne in Johannesburg and the Lycée Français in Cape Town, the majority of Baccalaureate graduates have been awarded honours.

At the Lycée Jules Verne in Johannesburg, 31 students (70%) were awarded honours – including 14 mentions "assez bien", 7 mentions "bien", 8 mentions "très bien" and 2 mentions "très bien" with the congratulations of the Jury.

At the Lycée Français in Cape Town, all graduates were awarded honours – 2 mentions "très bien", 1 mention "bien" and 3 mentions "assez bien".

Results at the Diplôme national du brevet (DNB) for 2015 are highly commendable as well, with a 83% success rate at the Lycée Jules Verne and a 90% success rate at the Lycée Français in Cape Town.

The graduates received their Baccalaureate diploma from the French Ambassador to South Africa, HE Elisabeth Barbier, at an official ceremony organized at the Lycée Jules Verne on 27 June. The Ambassador congratulated every student and acknowledged their outstanding results.

The graduates will pursue their studies in France and South Africa, but also in Australia, Canada, in the United States, the UK and Switzerland.

The Lycée Jules Verne in Johannesburg is registered with the Agency for French Teaching Abroad (AEFE). It was founded in 1992 and currently educates over 900 students from over 50 nationalities from nursery school through to grade 12 (Terminale).

The Pretoria campus of the Lycée Jules Verne opened in 2001. At the end of grade 5 (CM2), students continue their curriculum (middle and high school) at the Lycée Jules Verne in Johannesburg.
