ARTE, the European Culture Channel, Now Available in English [fr]
ARTE, the European culture channel, now offers a selection of its programmes subtitled in English on www.arte.tv/en alongside French, German and Spanish. Thanks to this free offering, South Africans and anyone around the world can now watch new, high quality programme. Every week, about 12 hours of innovative and challenging new programmes are made available online.
With the support of the European Commission, some of ARTE’s best documentaries and flagship magazine shows are now available to an international audience. Magazine shows include ARTE Reportage, focused on international news, Metropolis, an exploration of European art and culture, and finally, the ARTE Concert strand features live performances of music, dance, theatre, and opera.

A weekly programme of reports dealing with European and international affairs. Exceptional and frequently exclusive documentaries.
Reports on the arts and cultural scene of a different city in Europe each episode.

ARTE is the European culture channel. Franco-German from the outset, it was founded on 30 April 1991. The ARTE Group comprises three member companies: the European economic interest grouping ARTE E.E.I.G, ARTE France and ARTE Deutschland TV GmbH.
Its mission, is to conceive and produce television programmes which are cultural and international in character and conducive to promoting understanding and cooperation between Europe’s nations, and to broadcast these programmes or to authorise their broadcast. Since its creation, ARTE has been committed to cultural diversity and multilingualism.
