Ambassador Barbier visits the Africa Aerospace and Defence (AAD) exhibition 2016 [fr]
The 9th edition of Africa’s premier exhibition and airshow, Africa Aerospace and Defense (AAD), opened on September 14,2016 at Air Force Base Waterkloof in Tshwane. The exhibition will take run until Sunday 18 September, 2016.
On Wednesday, 14 September 2016, HE Ambassador Elisabeth Barbier, Defence Attaché Colonel Jean-Marie Monot and Deputy Defence Attaché Captain Arnaut Lacote attended the opening of the exhibition, starting with a lunch meeting with representatives of the Airbus Group.
Ambassador Barbier could also meet with representatives of Thales, DCNS, ECA Group, Safran, Paramount, MBDA, Nexter and Dassault.
The military exhibition creates opportunities for companies to present their defence and aeronautics products. In addition, aeroplanes will be on display at the Air Force Base and aerobatic demonstrations will take place over the four days. The first exhibition of this kind happened in 1975 in Pretoria.
In total, 11 French companies are exhibiting at the Africa Aerospace and Defence exhibition:
