ENA 2001 Class of Nelson Mandela wishes Madiba a speedy recovery

Each year the graduating class of the National School of Administration (ENA) selects an iconic figure to adopt as their Patron. The 2001 class selected Nelson Mandela. In a letter to the former president, the class wishes him a speedy recovery following his recent hospitalisation.

Dear Mr President,

We were very concerned when we heard that you had been hospitalized and are now relieved to hear that you were discharged from hospital.

You were so kind to accept the patronage of our class at the National School of Administration (“Ecole Nationale d’Administration”) and to come and meet us in Paris in 2001. Ever since that date we are very proud to say that we are the “Nelson Mandela Class”.

The example you set in your struggle against the apartheid regime in order to gain freedom, equality, human dignity and unity for your nation, remains a source fo inspiration for all of us both in our private and professional lives.

We are certain that you will overcome your current set-back in health, just as you have dealt with other hardships in the past, and we wish you a speedy recovery and a happy and healthy 2013.01.28

Yours most sincerely,

Past students of the Nelson Mandela class
