The Department of Economic Affairs
The Department of Economic Affairs of the French Embassy in South Africa, one of 156 such missions in 113 countries, has the aim of strengthening the international development of French companies worldwide.
The principal objectives of the Department of Economic Affairs are to:
- Analyse South Africa’s economic and financial situation, as well as its market accessibility for French companies.
- Support the trade activities of French export companies and those already established locally, to promote French investments while informing South African industrialists and administrations of French produce.
- Contribute, through collective work and data analysis, to defining French and EU proposals in multilateral institutions. The Economic Mission relays France’s positions on financial and commercial questions.
