First Fête de la Musique in Pretoria [fr]

The Alliance Française de Pretoria hosted their first Fête de la Musique in Sunnyside on Sunday 21 June 2015.

The Alliance Française partnered with Capital Collective, Capital Arts Revolution (U - The Space), SERRA, and Market@theSheds to bring three stages to life in three different venues in Sunnyside.

The first stage was situated in the premises of the Alliance Française on the corner of Rivier and De Kock streets, where crafts, food and drinks were also sold.

The second stage was also on Rivier Street, on the corner of Jorissen Street, where a pop-up Market at the Sheds was held.

The third stage was located on De Kock Street, on the corner of Verdoorn Street.

Hundreds of people flooded the streets of Sunnyside between 11am and 7pm – walking between stages, sampling food and drinks and listening to local and international musicians.

The event was free to the public and featured musicians such as Benjamin Piat, Greg Georgiades, Rebecca Clark, The Sextons and Azah Offering.

Ambassador of France to South Africa HE Elisabeth Barbier also attended the event.
