French Ambassador gives DELF certificates to seven Special Forces operators [fr]
On 8 December 2015, Ambassador of France to South Africa, Elisabeth Barbier, gave DELF certificates to seven South African Special Forces operators who had been learning French language at the Alliance Française of Pretoria. Three of them have received the DELF A1 certificate and four the DELF A2 certificate.
The aim of this program was twofold: be able to interact with the local forces and communities in their francophone areas of deployment, and be able to follow professional courses in France or French speaking countries.

Indeed, France is dedicated to promoting French in African armed forces participating in Peacekeeping operations to enhance their abilities to operate in Francophone countries.
