1) The Political section consists of the First Counsellor, two counsellors (one of them being also press counsellor) and two secretaries who focus on domestic affairs and South Africa’s international relations and bilateral relations between France and South Africa.
2) It is in charge of :
offering input concerning South African affairs to the French government ;
maintaining a good working relationship with the South African government ;
speaking for the French government.
