French pavilion at "Nampo Harvest Day 2014" [fr]

The "Nampo Harvest Day 2014" show was held from May 13th to 17th in Bothaville (Freestate). It is the biggest agricultural show organized in Southern Africa, with 72 000 professional visitors coming from all the continent and 650 exhibitors in 2013. The French Pavilion, set up by Ubifrance, was a great opportunity to present French operators’ offerings in the agricultural sector.

To salute the first edition of this pavilion dedicated to French companies, H.E. Ambassador Barbier visited the show on May 15th.

10 companies exhibited in the pavilion, representing various sectors: barn equipment (Bioret Agri, Nutristar INTL), agricultural and forestry machinery (Forges de Niaux, Menard-Darriet-Cullerier, Michelin Tyre Company South Africa, Mailleux (MX), SA Rolland Ets), solar energy (Solairedirect Technologies). SIMA-SIMAGENA, the Paris international agri-business show organizer was also there. 8 more French companies participated individually in the show.

France is South Africa’s 14th global supplier of food and agro-food products (dairy products, spirits, wines) and the 5th from Europe.
In terms of products imported from South Africa to France, the primary imports are fruits, beverages, fish and shellfish.
