Lesotho - European Union Political Dialogue [fr]

On 1 & 2 December 2014, Charlotte Montel, the First Counsellor of the Embassy of France, participated as Chargée D’affaires a.i. in the annual Lesotho - European Union Political Dialogue in Maseru. The delegation included around 15 European Heads of Mission ("HoMs"). The aim of the meeting was to follow-up on the dialogue regarding the political, security and economic situation with the coalition government, before the upcoming early parliamentary elections in February 2015.

The dialogue covered the country’s political and security situation and Lesotho - EU cooperation (European Development Fund, Economic Partnership Agreement).

Heads of Mission made a courtesy call to King Letsie III. They also met members of the Independent Electoral Commission, opposition parties, civil society and of the diplomatic corps.
While in Maseru as SADC facilitator, Vice-President Cyril Ramaphosa met with the delegation.
