The Internal Security Service

The International Cooperation Directorate (ICD) of the Interior Ministry is represented by an internal security attaché, police commissioner.

1) The Police and Security Department consists of the Internal Security Attaché, a Divisional Commissioner from the National Police.

2) It is in charge of :

- following up all police and security affairs between France and some of the Southern Africa countries (Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland and Zimbabwe) ;

- facilitating exchanges between police departments ;

- transmitting operational information ;

- implementing technical co-operation actions ;

- assisting consulates by giving support and advising on questions affecting the
security of French expats, residents or tourists in Southern Africa.
