The Police and Security Department
1) The Police and Security Department consists of the Internal Security Attaché, a Divisional Commissioner from the National Police, assisted by the Deputy Internal Security Attaché, a senior officer in the Gendarmerie.
2) It is in charge of :
following up all police and security affairs between France and some of the Southern Africa countries (Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland and Zimbabwe) ;
facilitating exchanges between police departments ;
transmitting operational information ;
implementing technical co-operation actions ;
assisting consulates by giving support and advising on questions affecting the
security of French expats, residents or tourists in Southern Africa.
