Reception to celebrate the opening of the Parliament [fr]
On 17 February 2014, the Ambassador of France, Mrs Elisabeth Barbier, hosted a cocktail reception at the Granger Bay Hotel School Restaurant to celebrate the opening of the Parliament.
Known as an annual rendez-vous, Members of Parliament, representatives of the Western Cape Province and of the City of Cape Town, Ambassadors, as well as members of the business community, clergy, civil society, academia and artists were invited.
The Ambassador’s allocution started by enhancing how dynamic the economic French presence in South Africa is and how attractive France is for foreign investors. She also reminded the numerous links existing between our two countries in the field of cultural, scientific and academic cooperation. Finally, she mentionned the coming big events, and especially the organization of COP21 in Paris in Decemberand the gastronomic meal that will be serve all around the word on March 19th.
