So Chef ! event in South Africa
So Chef event, organised by the French Institute of South Africa (IFAS) and the Délégation Générale de l’Alliance Française en Afrique Australe (DGAF), in partnership with the network of Alliance Française in South Africa and Lesotho, Atout France, the South African Department of Basic Education and the Government of Flanders (Belgium), took place from 12 October to 14 October in 7 different cities in South Africa and Lesotho.
Indeed, 3 top Chefs from France and Belgium - Chef Jean Alexandre Galmar from Réunion Island, Chef Yoric Tièche from Antibes and Chef Nicolas Decloedt from Brussels - travelled to Pretoria, Cape Town, East London, Durban, Johannesburg, Bloemfontein and Maseru to be the Chefs in numerous culinary workshops.
So Chef! offered a varied programme of experiences for foodies of all ages, with workshops organised in schools and universities, workshops in the Alliance Française network and partnering cooking schools and four-handed gastronomic dinners in restaurants.
The Ambassador of France to South Africa attended the prestigious dinner at the Sel et Poivre Restaurant in Johannesburg on 24 October, with Chef Jean Alexandre Galmar as special guest in Chef Coco Reinarhz’ kitchen.
