State Visit of President François Hollande in South Africa

The President of France, Mr François Hollande, will undertake a State Visit to South Africa on the 14th and 15th of October 2013.

This State Visit is organized at the invitation of the President of South Africa Mr Jacob Zuma, following his visit to France in March 2011. This meeting will be an opportunity to reinforce close relationship existing with this central partner in Africa, on a political level as well as on economic and cultural fronts.

The President of France will be accompanied by high-level ministers and a delegation of French entrepreneurs.

A tête-à-tête meeting between the two State Heads will be followed by a joint press conference.

Meanwhile, an Economic Forum will be held, giving opportunity for exchanges between South African and French executives and companies, and reflecting the importance of bilateral relationship existing between our two countries.

The program of this State Visit also involves a considerable symbolic meaning through the visit to historical and heritage sites paying tribute to South African historical heroes, particularly from the struggle against Apartheid : Freedom Park, Nelson Mandela’s house in Soweto and the Hector Pieterson Museum.
