The Alliance Française of Durban and the Durban University of Technology have recently signed an Memorandum of Understanding [fr]
The Alliance Française of Durban and the Faculty of Art and Design have been developing a cultural partnership since October 2015. As part of this partnership, the Cirquons Flex Company from Reunion Island recently delighted more than 200 spectators at the Court Yard Theatre with their circus performance.
In May 2016, the French dancer Fabrice Lambert, fresh from his a month-long African tour, performed two contemporary dance solos, and also facilitated a dance workshop for the students of DUT.
Next August, the hip hop dance company Soul City, also from Reunion Island, will be offering a three day dance workshop to the university students. A comments and feedback session will also be held on completion of the workshop.
This MoU has been extended to include the entire University, as to allow for possible future ventures with other faculties and on different themes. We would like to acknowledge the continued support and participation of the Institut Français of South Africa, without whom many of these projects would not have been possible.
