Total South Africa reopens its doors after makeover

Ambassador of France to South Africa HE Elisabeth Barbier on 10 September 2015 attended the reopening of Total South Africa’s head office in Rosebank following a complete renovation and new-look interior.

Targeting a Level 4 Green Star rating through the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA), which requires compliance to strict environmental building guidelines, the aim was to allow for future growth while improving the group’s environmental footprint.

Total considers itself more than just an energy company, according to Total South Africa CEO Christian des Closières: "We intend to lead the way in creating sustainable energy solutions that are environmentally friendly and have a positive impact on people and communities whom we interact with. Our new building demonstrates this and we are proud to be the first multi-national petroleum group in South Africa to truly embrace the next era of energy production and efficiency".

South African Minister of Environmental Affairs Honourbale Edna Molelwa unveiled the plaque together with Senior Vice President Total in Africa and Middle East, Momar Nguer, Chairperson of the Total South Africa Board, Dolly Mokgatle, and Christian des Closières.
