The French Trade Commission in South Africa is part of Ubifrance network, the French Agency for International Business Development which has 63 offices in 44 different countries. The Trade Commission in South Africa is based in Sandton and relies on a team of 10 experts divided into 4 departments, each one managed by a Senior Trade Officer :

The main objectives of the Trade Commission – Ubifrance are:

- In partnership with the Department of Economic Affairs of the French Embassy (SER), providing French companies with up to date data and analysis about the economic situation of South Africa, existing and potential business opportunities, and market access conditions offering to French companies a full range of services, either individually or in groups, in order to put them in contact with the most appropriate South African trade or industrial partners

- Promoting the International Internship Program (VIE) within French subsidiaries operating in South Africa
