Visit of GRI Renewable Industries’ site in Gestamp [fr]
On 11 March 2015, H.E. Ambassador Barbier and Consul of France in Cape Town Xavier d’Argoeuves visited Spanish company GRI Renewable Industries’ site in Gestamp. It is the first factory producing wind turbine towers in the Western Cape (the second one in South Africa), and it was opened in November 2014.

The plant’s construction was part of the South Africain governement’s Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Program (REIPPPP), targeted at developing eco-friendly energy in South Africa.
Since it started operations, the Gestamp site produces more than 150 turbines per year and created more than 200 qualified job positions.
GRI Renewable Industries is located in Atlantis, a special economic zone in green technology near Cape Town.
